Library Rules

Following rules and regulations are in force that must be followed while visiting and using the library:

Admission to the Library
All members of the Goalpara College shall be allowed admission to the library.

Entrance inside the Library
To entrance inside the library maintain the following instructions
(a) Every student must come to the library with college uniform
(b) All personal belongings except wallet, mobile phone, note book and library Borrower’s Card will have to deposit in the property counter.
(c) Every user must scan his/her library Borrower’s Card on the scanner machine for digital library attendance.

Membership
The following categories of persons shall become members of the Goalpara College Library:
- All the faculty members of Goalpara College.
- All the regular students and
- All other regular employees of Goalpara College.

Rules of Lending of Books
- Each member will have a Library Borrower’s Card according to the category to which he/she belongs to.
- Students can issue books for 15(fifteen) days only. A fine as per Library rules will be charged for each volume kept beyond the due date. No fine policy is applicable for Faculty members and Non-teaching staff.
- The Library Borrower’s Card is not transferable.
- Periodicals (journals, magazines and newspapers) and books from Reference Section are not issued.
- Books lost, torn or defected in any way have to be replaced/ paid by the borrower.
- The librarian may recall any book from member at any time.
- A Library Clearance Certificate may be issued to members only on returning all books borrowed and surrendering the Library Borrower’s Card.

Procedure for Borrowing Books
The members shall be privileged to borrow the specific number of books from the library according to their category.
