Library Rules
- Every student must come to the library with college uniform
- All personal belongings except wallet, mobile phone, note book and library card will have to deposit in the property counter.
- Every user must scan their library card for their library attendance.
- Two books are issued to the students of Degree Course and one book is issued to the students of Higher Secondary Course.
- Books are issued for 15(fifteen) days only. A fine as per Library rules will be charged for each volume kept beyond the due date.
- Books lost, torn or defected in any way have to be replaced/ paid by the borrower.
- Books from reference section are not issued.
- Keep Mobile Phones in mute mode or vibration mode.
- Users must maintain silence in the library.
- The loss of Library Borrower’s Card should be reported immediately in writing to the Librarian and a fine of Rs.50/- will be charged for re-issue of a Library Borrower’s Card.

Library Management Committee
There is a Library Management Committee for development and smooth management of the library . The Library Management Committee is constituted with the following members as per Govt. letter No.AHE.1036/2019/4 Dated 23rd July,2021.

Facilities & Services
Membership
The following categories of persons shall become members of the Goalpara College Library:
- All the faculty members of Goalpara College
- All the regular students and
- All the non-teaching staff of Goalpara College.
Circulation
Goalpara College Library provides the facility of Issue, Return, Renewal of books using Barcode technology to all the library members.
The Timing of Issue/Return of books is from 10 A.M. to 3.30 P.M. on every working days.
Reference and Information Service
Users may approach for information or any assistance to use of reference collections and services. Collections of reference section are usually not issued. Ready reference services, information about library services and library resources are also provided by the library.
Reading Room
The library with its open access system and spacious reading area provides an atmosphere conductive to the excitement of mental discovery. Users are allowed to read books, to prepare notes or project report etc. in the reading room during college hours. There is a newspaper stand at the reading room where also users can read newspaper.

Periodical Section
In the periodical section user can read journals and magazines. Journal and magazines are kept at the separate display board. Reading table is also provided there..
UN/ UNESCO Reading Library Corner
In this corner user can read books, pamphlets, or news letter etc. which are provided by UN/UNESCO .
Internet Service
User can also avail free internet service with Wi-Fi facility in the library. Total number of 10 (Ten) computers are given to access internet. The library also provides access to e-resources to the users through N-LIST programme of INFLIBNET Centre. User also access Institutional Repository of Goalpara College, an open access electronic archive collecting, preserving and distributing digital materials created by Goalpara College from Digital Library.
Reprographic Service
Goalpara college library provides reprographic service also. A user can get the xerox of desired library documents on payment basis. The Library offers reprography service at nominal fee of Rs. 1/-(one) per copy
OPAC/Web OPAC facility
OPAC is extremely user-friendly and enables searches to be conducted with ease and speed. It gives the availability status of documents, location of the books . It also save time of the user. Two computers are dedicated for OPAC. We have also installed webOPAC. The link for WebOPAC is

Smart Display
To record footfall of the user we have introduced computerized attendance system with smart display at the entrance for the members of the library.
Institutional Repository(IR)
Goalpara College library is developed its own Institutional Repository (IR) using D-Space software for digitalization, an open access electronic archive collecting, preserving and distributing digital materials created, owned and hosted by Goalpara College, Goalpara, Assam.
E- resources
N-LIST
The Project entitled "National Library and Information Services Infrastructure for Scholarly Content (N-LIST)", being jointly executed by the e-ShodhSindhu Consortium, INFLIBNET Centre and the INDEST-AICTE Consortium, IIT Delhi provides for i) cross-subscription to e-resources subscribed by the two Consortia, i.e. subscription to INDEST-AICTE resources for universities and e-ShodhSindhu resources for technical institutions; and ii) access to selected e-resources to colleges. The authorized users from colleges can now access e-resources and download articles required by them directly from the publisher's website once they are duly authenticated as authorized users through servers deployed at the INFLIBNET Centre.
National Digital Library of India
National Digital Library of India (NDLI) is a virtual repository of learning resources which is not just a repository with search/browse facilities but provides a host of services for the learner community. It is sponsored and mentored by Ministry of Education, Government of India, through its National Mission on Education through Information and Communication Technology (NMEICT). It is developed, operated and maintained from Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur.
Directory of Open Access Books (DOAB)
DOAB is a discovery service for peer reviewed open access books and book publishers that indexes and provides access to high quality, open access, peer-reviewed books.

DOAJ-Directory of Open Access Journal
DOAJ is a community-curated online directory that indexes and provides access to high quality, open access, peer-reviewed journals. All DOAJ services are free of charge including being indexed. All data is freely available.
NISCAIR Online Periodicals Repository
Here users can access full text articles from research journals published by CSIR-NISCAIR. NOPR also hosts three Popular Science Magazines viz. Science Reporter (SR), Vigyan Pragati (VP) & Science Ki Duniya (SKD), and a Natural Products Repository (NPARR).
