Wall magazine of the department of Sociology for the session of 2021-22. The wall magazine is inaugurated by the Principal of Goalpara College Dr. Subhash Barman on 24th November, 2021.
The department of Sociology established in 2015 and started its journey in Goalpara College, Goalpara with three year B.A. General Course. And the department started to offer three year Major Course in Sociology from the session of 2016-17 under Gauhati University. Since then the department is providing knowledge on social realities for a better understanding of society.
After the implementation of CBCS course, the department offers B.A. (Honours) and B.A. (Regular) Courses in Sociology from the session of 2019-20. Presently, the department is run by four faculty members.
The main objective of the department is to give special emphasis on promoting inter-disciplinary studies and researches for shaping the thoughts of students in the direction of Sociological Perspectives.
